Michaela and Jay's Picturesque Elopement in Red Rock Canyon // Wedding Inspiration in Waterton, Alberta
This picturesque styled shoot took place in Red Rock Canyon, located in Waterton National Park in Alberta. The breathtaking canyon, stunning views, and unique table set-up made for incredible photos and styling that we fell head-over-heels in love with!
The stunning florals were from Antheia Floral Boutique (don’t you love that added texture of the artichoke in the bouquet!). They added to the earthy rustic aesthetic with textured leaves and bright pops of colour.
The scenery and location was a huge point of inspiration for us and we really wanted the canyon to highlight our decor and palette choices. Our primary colour palette consisted of burgundy, black, orange, and touches of blue and copper. The location was spectacular and the deep red colour added so much richness and life to the shoot. We fell in love with this down-to-earth tablescape. The pops of colour, copper drinkware, and rustic wood were the perfect complements to one another. Natura Macrame created the beautiful macrame table runner specifically for this shoot! We wanted to tie in some bohemian vibes, and what better way than a stunning macrame piece! The beautiful blue glassware and cutlery were from Modern Luxe Rentals and Great Event Rentals. And those reactive dishes? Look no further than Westelm!
Don’t want to go the traditional cake route?
Try a tower of macarons, like this one from Ollia!
Of all the lovely styling pieces of the day, our very favourite is the floral feature that cascaded out the front of the table like a glorious waterfall. The orange roses, blue thistles and greenery flowing out of the table and into the canyon was a stunning feature, and easily one of our favourites to date!
The best part about a national park elopement is the variety of scenery; you often get to choose from so many different locations and views! A short walk from the canyon was a gorgeous valley, lush with tall green grass and framed between Albertan mountains. The couple stopped to take some portraits in the valley, and here’s what came of it!
The stationery for the elopement was just as rich as the shoot itself. The canyon red was incorporated into the beautiful hand dyed ribbons from Tono and Co. An illustrated leaf etching was found throughout the stationery elements, and the entire suite was foiled with copper. Beautiful vintage stamps from the Little Postage House complemented the suite beautifully, picking up those deep burgundy tones.
